Careers & Work Experience

Post 18 options are a significant part of the Personal Development curriculum at Roundhay. Our main programme incorporates high quality information, advice and guidance on apprenticeships, university options and employment, alongside local labour market information.

As students move through their Sixth Form journey, our supplementary programmes and a wide range of careers opportunities provide bespoke support, experiences and encounters to support post 18 decisions and enhance future applications. Through our weekly careers bulletin, students are also offered a variety of ways to link their subjects to potential careers and take part in projects such as Northern Gas Network’s Innovators Council and Getaway Girls. This gives our students plenty of opportunities not only to gain valuable experience but also make a positive contribution to our wider community and society as a whole.

Mrs Stephanie Metcalf (qualified Careers Adviser) is our Sixth Form Careers and Work Experience Manager and is available throughout the year for one to one advice and guidance.

Her working days are Wednesday/Thursday/Friday and she can be contacted at sixthform@roundhayschool.com
