Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Welcome to the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award at Roundhay School. At Roundhay we offer all three levels of the award; bronze, silver and gold. The award is extremely popular amongst our key stage 4 pupils as well as sixth form puils, each year applications for the award open at the end of September.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award website - is a fantastic website which explains everything you need to or would want to know about the scheme. It is highly recommended that you research the award levels before deciding which level you would like to take.

The awards are open to the following year groups:

Bronze: Y10 and above

Silver: Y11 and above

Gold: Sixth form

Whilst you can start at any level as long as you are in or above the year group stated next to each award we would recommend that you work your way through all 3 as the level of involvement and commitment required increases with each award.

The awards consist of pupils developing themselves outside of the classroom; there are 4 sections (5 at Gold) which include volunteering, a skill, a physical activity and an expedition. At Gold pupils must also undertake a residential.

Each award has a dedicated leader who will be able to help with any issues your child may be having with the award. If you would like any further information please contact the relevant leader below:
