
Pupil Ambassadors
Year 9 Pupil Ambassadors
During Year 9, we invite pupils to apply for positions as ambassadors in areas of particular interest. This is a rewarding opportunity for pupils who are encouraged to take on more responsibility and develop skills and attributes that prepare them for future success. It also provides important evidence for UCAS applications. Each team of ambassadors will:
- Conduct research in their specialist area; gather pupil voice; give a presentation to the Junior leadership Team.
- Lead assemblies to promote their cause.
- Support younger pupils during an extra-curricular club.
- Volunteer at a whole school event.
Community Ambassadors
Interests
Our school community and catchment area; the estate, grounds and facilities at Roundhay.
Skills

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a facilities survey
- Support the introduction of new facilities in school, e.g. the outdoor classroom
- Volunteer at Parents’ Evening and other whole school events
- Accompany VIP groups on school tours
Culture Ambassador
Interests
The arts, including Music, Art, Drama, Textiles, Product Design, Media and Film. Public relations and journalism.

Responsibilities
- Volunteer / support an extra-curricular Club

Environmental Ambassador
Interests
Climate change and making school more sustainable; gaining eco-school status for Roundhay.

- Identifies problems/opportunities to improve sustainability
Responsibilities
- Deliver whole school eco-school survey
- Plan eco assemblies to share information
- Meet with Mitie and visit recycling centres to discover how we deal with our waste
Health Ambassador
Interests
Health & wellbeing; raising awareness of healthy diet; improving the school’s dining provision.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a survey on healthy eating at Roundhay
- Liaise with Chartwells to plan menus for Diners
- Lead healthy schools assemblies
- Volunteer at the Spice Cup, Roundhay Feast, Primary School lunches, Parent & Pupil cookery classes, Open Day (café)
Heritage Ambassador
Interests
The history of Roundhay School; learning about alumni, how the school has changed and is changing.

Responsibilities
- Conduct a research project on Roundhay School’s history
- Support heritage projects, e.g. Oral History project

Sports and being active; supporting sports clubs; taking on responsibility in PE.
