Careers Enrichment and Engagement

Welcome to Roundhay School’s Careers Enrichment & Engagement (CEE) Team.

As holders of the Quality in Careers Standard and working within the GATSBY Benchmarks, we are committed to giving quality impartial information, advice and guidance to all students by educating them on future opportunities and potential career paths based on their individual needs.

Students are encouraged to recognise and embrace their own distinct set of characteristics, skills and knowledge through a variety of interventions and careers tools. We aim to ensure students make informed choices about their next steps, researching and exploring different career sectors, the roles available and the necessary qualifications required. Students are given key information and advice around progression routes and apprenticeships as well as further and higher education providers.

We deliver a varied programme of careers education embedded into the curriculum. All activities are designed to develop student’s self-awareness and employability skills whilst enhancing their knowledge of the world of work. A variety of employer engagement events and workshops are delivered across all year groups throughout the course of the year. All students receive post 16 and post 18 options information and engage with the START careers platform to support their journey, learn about the current labour market and research progression routes.

Employer engagement typically focuses upon:

  1. Developing employability and transferrable skills in response to the demands of the local and global economy,
  2. Creating opportunities for skill development- typically through collaborative employer partnership arrangements,
  3. Creating enterprise and innovation opportunities through a variety of partnerships.

Supporting students to become valuable members of society who are respectful, resilient and always ready to learn.

If you would like to support us: offer a workplace visit, CSR engagement, guest speaker, etc. please contact the team at: RoundhayCEE@roundhayschool.com.
