Careers Enrichment and Engagement

Welcome to Roundhay School’s Careers Enrichment and Engagement (CEE) Team.

Working within the GATSBY Benchmarks, we are committed to giving quality impartial information, advice and guidance to all students by educating them on future opportunities and potential career paths based on their individual needs.

Students are encouraged to recognise and embrace their own distinct set of characteristics, skills and knowledge through a variety of interventions and careers tools. We equip students to make informed choices about their next steps. For instance, by researching and exploring different career sectors, the roles available and the necessary qualifications required. We give students key information and advice about progression routes, apprenticeships, and further and higher education providers.

We deliver a varied programme of careers education embedded into the curriculum. By design, all our activities allow students to develop self-awareness and employability skills whilst enhancing their knowledge of the world of work. We also deliver various employer engagement events and workshops across all year groups. All students receive post-16 and post-18 options information and engage with the START careers platform to support their journey, learn about the current labour market and research progression routes.

Employer engagement typically focuses upon:

  1. Developing employability and transferrable skills in response to the demands of the local and global economy.
  2. Creating opportunities for skill development- typically through collaborative employer partnership arrangements.
  3. Creating enterprise and innovation opportunities through a variety of partnerships.

We support students to become valuable members of society who are respectful, resilient and always ready to learn.

Congratulations to our wonderful Y13 students! We are delighted to celebrate the destinations they have secured with their A level and Vocational results.

The Class of 2026 reflect a diverse range of interests, ambitions and course choices. They will begin exciting apprenticeships with global employers such as KPMG and roles including a Level 7 Apprenticeship in Accounting and our first apprenticeships in Environmental Consulting/Flood Risk Management and Autocare.

Our students will be taking up university courses across the UK from St Andrews and Glasgow to Imperial College London, Cambridge and Bath. Closer to home, also proving popular this year, are Durham, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle. With eight students securing places to study medicine, healthcare was again a favourite destination alongside courses in Radiography, Sonography and Optometry. Other exciting courses this year were Archaeology, Astrophysics and Contemporary Military and International History.

We are so proud of their individual success, testament to their sheer hard work along with the support of families and the teaching from our expert staff.

Roundhay represents a Sixth Form of all abilities who study a wide range of courses and we are delighted to recognise success at all levels across the curriculum. This year we were especially pleased that 30% of our A level entries were at the highest grades of A*/A and over 40 students achieved at least 3 A's at A Level.

Congratulations to everyone, we hope you enjoy celebrating your success and wish you all the very best for the future.
