PE & Sport

Physical Education

A creative and fun subject which all pupils study. Participating in a broad range of sports and activities will help to develop a wide range of skills and personal qualities, becoming more competent, confident and expert in their techniques. PE aims to inspire all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities, including team and individual games.

Activities on offer within the curriculum include:

  • Football
  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Rugby
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Trampolining
  • Climbing
  • Rounders
  • Tennis
  • Athletics
  • Cricket
  • Fitness
  • Table Tennis

Extra-Curricular Opportunities

We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of activities for pupils to experience, learn, enjoy and compete in and have had many successful teams in a plethora of sports and year groups. Our clubs are open to all abilities and all pupils are encouraged to ‘come and try’. From our clubs we select teams to compete in inter-school competitions and fixtures.

On our twitter you can find the details for all fixtures, results and individual achievements. We love to celebrate our pupils and all their contributions. Many pupils and parents follow the page to keep up to date with arrangements.

Extra-curricular Activities include:

  • Rugby Union/League
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Badminton
  • Trampolining
  • Cricket
  • Athletics
  • Rounders
  • Tennis and Table Tennis
  • Climbing

(All pupils require full PE kit – practices are 3.05 p.m. to 4.15 pm or as arranged)

Throughout their time at Roundhay, pupils will have the opportunity to involve themselves in a range of other activities. This includes training to be a Sports Leader, being a Sports Ambassador as well as taking part in Sports Days, Outdoor Adventurous Activities and other similar events.

Get involved – Make friends – Improve understanding and skill – Improve fitness – Improve confidence – Improve your school experience!
