Science Week Competition 2021

Science Week Competitions for KS3

It’s Science Week from 8th-12th March, and to celebrate we’re launching two fun competitions for KS3 students.

See below for details on how to enter and be in with a chance of winning £40 of Amazon vouchers. We can’t wait to see your entries!

Springtime Species Scavenger Hunt

As we move into spring, you will probably notice more flowers blooming and more wild animals in your gardens, in the park, and out and about. How many different species can you identify in your local area?

Download the Seek app for free on your smartphone or tablet to help you identify local wildlife. Make a list of the species you find and make sure to include a picture you have taken of each one.

This can include plants, amphibians, fungi, fish, reptiles, birds, insects, molluscs and mammals!

Email your list to ljames@roundhayschool.com with the subject ‘Springtime Species Scavenger Hunt’ by 3pm on Friday 12th March to be in with a chance to win. The winner will be the student who correctly identifies the most different species. Happy scavenging!

Science ArtAttack

Feeling creative? Unleash your imagination and create a piece of science-themed artwork!

You can create your artwork in any form you like, from drawing or painting to model-building, textiles, or knitting – the more creative the better! Just make sure your art is linked to a topic in Science.

To enter, send a photo of your masterpiece to ljames@roundhayschool.com with the subject ‘Science ArtAttack’ by 3pm on Friday 12th March. Entries will be judged by the Heads of Science and Art. Happy crafting!

Prizes for both the Springtime Scavenger Hunt and Science Art Attack competitions are: £40 of Amazon vouchers each for the two winners and £20 each for 2nd and 3rd place runners up.
