Roundhay's Sixth Form exceeds expectations....again!!

Fantastic A Level and BTEC results in 2017

Roundhay’s sixth form students are once again celebrating excellent A level and BTEC results which confirm the school’s standing as one of the most successful providers of Post 16 teaching and learning in the city.

Almost 200 students sat A Level examinations and our results were our best since 2006! This year we will be sending a record number of our students to university. Four of our students will be starting the new academic term at Oxford and Cambridge universities studying Medicine, Engineering, Geography and Physics. Altogether eight of our Year 13 students will be starting Medicine or Dentistry courses at Russell Group universities next year.

Our Level 3 BTEC results were amongst the best in the city with the majority of students achieving distinctions or better. The success of our BTEC provision has enabled the majority of this cohort to move on to higher education to study a fascinating range of subjects including Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Film Studies, International Business Management and Education Studies.

Seven of our students achieved at least 4 grades at A*/A and 41 students achieved at least 3 grades of A*/A or Distinction/Distinction*. Overall 87 (40%) of our students achieved at LEAST one grade at A* or Distinction*. We really are proud of the achievement of all our sixth formers.

Congratulations are due to all our students and their teachers who worked so hard together to ensure such an outstanding set of examination results.

We wish all our students every success in their futures. Well done!
