Respect Equality and Diversity (RED Award)

Red award entry for Website  –  June 2022

This academic year has seen Roundhay place equality and diversity at the very heart of our agenda, via our kindness charter and implementation of our Equality Ambassadors. We strive to continue this work and during 2022/2023 will be working towards The RED award.

The Red Kite Alliance Respect, Equality and Diversity (RED Award) has been developed to support schools to review, strengthen and celebrate their provision in terms of equality, diversity, respect for individuals and community cohesion. Engagement with the award signals a clear commitment to place this agenda at the heart of the life and work of the school.

Work is already well underway to achieve stage 1 of this award, with further plans next academic year to achieve stage 2 and 3 and overall accreditation. We see this as a great opportunity to celebrate our diverse community alongside recognising the extensive work already being done in school. Stage 1 will allow us to reflect on the great work already in place, with a view to extending and improving our focus on equality and diversity for the future. Watch this space for future updates!
