Rachel Reeves Talk to Year 12

On Thursday, the History and Politics department took twelve Year 12 Politics students to Leeds Library to listen to a talk from Rachel Reeves MP.

The topic of the discussion was Alice Bacon, Leeds' first female MP, and how she used her progressive views to help improve lives for ordinary people in Britain.
Our students gained a valuable insight into the lives and roles of an MP and the challenges that females MP's faced and still face today. Rachel was incredibly generous with her time and spent a long time discussing Politics and feminism with our students after the talk.

I am sure that she has inspired some of our students to follow her and Alice's footsteps in the future.
