At Roundhay School, we strive to enable all pupils to be the best that they can be. This encompasses their academic achievements as well as their personal strength of character. Our whole school culture fosters an environment to build pupils' self esteem, resilience, responsibility and compassion for the world.
Our carefully crafted 'Strength of Character' curriculum has been designed based on the needs of our pupils. It is rich with talk, books and covers issues that build upon their depth of knowledge and personal traits. Our core values and key themes run through all lessons as students challenge themselves in a variety of ways. Through JLT, pupil ambassadors and parent forums, lessons are evolving to cater for the needs of Roundhay children.
Through Talk Time, forest schools, dive ins, theme weeks and our whole school culture, we are providing an environment that ensures pupils are fit and ready for their futures. During their journey through Roundhay, primary school students embark on a personal journey of achievement, which is documented in their very own pupil passport.
Being mentally and physically fit are hugely important. Active leaders, yoga, Leeds United, theme weeks and musical play times all help to create healthy minds and bodies at Roundhay School.
Our wide range of clubs, from internal and external providers, mean that the vast majority of students can enjoy their interests at school. Some of the amazing things we have on offer include sports, music, languages and dance clubs. So far, we have seen students improve their skills in karate, foot tech, Spanish, French, gardening, guitar, flute, drama, Bollywood dancing and many more!
