Welcome from our Primary Leadership Team

We believe that all children can achieve excellence!

A very warm welcome to our website! We hope that it will provide you with a good insight into our vibrant, happy and successful school.

Roundhay Primary School is a diverse and thriving community with big ambitions. As a staff team, we are fully committed to our vision that every child is the 'best that they can be,' and we will continue to work hard to ensure that our families feel part of this important journey, as we strive for excellence on a daily basis.

Our partnerships with parents and carers are at the centre of everything we do. Through regular newsletters, workshops, coffee mornings and celebration events, we work hard to ensure that families and staff work hand in hand. Together, everyone achieves more!

Our high expectations, innovative curriculum and distinct approach to learning make us a great school for children to learn and achieve. Firm in our belief that children come first, we strive to ensure that all pupils at Roundhay feel happy and safe.  With our children being the leaders of the future, we actively promote independence, confidence and teamwork.

On a personal note, I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the Roundhay Team as the newly appointed Head of Teaching and Learning. I am incredibly passionate about offering all children the best possible experiences to ensure that all children reach their full potential. I am looking forward to the new chapter for Roundhay School as we continue to grow, nurture and challenge our children so that they are ‘Fit for their Future!’

With very kind regards,

Mrs Kelly Wood

Head of Learning and Teaching

The school’s guiding principle is ‘Being the best that we can be’ and is lived out in all that we do.  Our vision for the children is that they aim high and become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Our hardworking and committed staff are determined that your children achieve well, and we encourage them to try hard in all that they do. We want them to be proud of everything that they achieve, and of their school.

As Associate Deputy Headteacher, I will always encourage close and supportive relationships between home and school, and welcome parents and carers as active partners in their child’s learning and development, in order that we can provide the very best opportunities for your children.

Mr David Mitchell

Associate Deputy Headteacher
