All-Through School Safeguarding (4-18)
We place safeguarding at the heart of everything we do at Roundhay School.
We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we work hard to maintain a ‘Culture of Vigilance’ through appropriate formal training from Leeds Local Authority and regular in-house training to ensure the safety of our children is our staff’s highest priority.
We support our children’s understanding of keeping safe through our Core Values and our bespoke Personal Development Curriculum, ensuring that they learn about strategies to keep themselves safe and the risks to be aware of in the modern world.
In addition to our Personal Development Curriculum, we use themed days or weeks to raise the profile of spotlight issues, including Anti-Bullying Week, Safer Internet Day, and the NSPCC’s Speak Out, Stay Safe programme.
Through regularly revisiting themes and issues, our children develop the appropriate strategies to keep themselves safe throughout their time at the Primary Campus, Secondary Campus and beyond.
