New date for May bank holiday 2020

On 7 June the government announced a change to the date of one of the May bank holidays in 2020.  To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, the bank holiday which would usually fall on the first Monday in May has been moved to Friday 8 May.  You can read the full government announcement at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/2020-may-bank-holiday-will-be-moved-to-mark-75th-anniversary-of-ve-day
As a result of this change school will be open as usual on Monday 4 May 2020, and will instead be closed on Friday 8 May 2020.  All schools and local authorities (as well as other organisations and businesses) will currently be in the process of updating their calendars accordingly.
By alerting you to this change as soon as possible we trust families will be able to plan accordingly.
