As outlined in our School Development Plan, our work within and for the local community is incredibly important to us.

Roundhay School’s Community Agenda aims to enrich the education and experience of our pupils, parents and  staff. Our mission statement asserts our intention to ‘help our pupils  achieve their potential and to take their place in society as healthy, resilient and responsible citizens,who have respect for themselves, one another and the wider community.’

This is developed through the Community and  Partnerships Priority with our School Development Plan. We also have a responsiblity to develop our students’ understanding about how they can contribute positively to the lives of those living and  working in our local community and the wider society.

Such engagement can take a variety of forms, but typically focuses upon:

  • Enhancing student employability and  developing their employability skills in response to the demands of the local and global economy;
  • Creating opportunities for their development, typically through collaborative employer partnership arrangements;
  • Creating opportunities associated with partnerships in enterprise and innovation initiatives;
  • Creating opportunities to both develop their responsibilities to the local community whilst providing a valuable service.
