We are Responsible.  We are resilient.  We are Ready to learn.
  We are Roundhay.

WELCOME FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER - MATTHEW PARTINGTON

“Since 1903, Roundhay School has been at the heart of its community, growing into one of the country's largest, most diverse and most oversubscribed schools.

We are proud to be an All-Through School, serving children and young people aged 4 to 18. Our core ambition is clear: to do "whatever it takes" to provide an exceptional education for every pupil.

At Roundhay, pupils benefit from academic excellence, rich cultural opportunities and strong foundations for future success. Our results are consistently above national averages, and we are proud to hold both the World Class Schools accreditation and an Ofsted Outstanding judgement. Yet we never stand still. We are always striving to improve, and we are determined to ensure that no pupil is ever left behind.

We are ambitious for every child who joins us. As one of the most diverse school communities in the country, we believe that background should never determine success. We work relentlessly to remove barriers to learning, participation and achievement, ensuring that every pupil feels they belong, is valued for who they are, and is supported to fulfil their potential. We refuse to choose between excellence and inclusion. At Roundhay, we expect both. Central to this is our Roundhay Learning Culture: a consistent, evidence-informed approach to teaching that combines academic rigour with exceptional relationships, enabling every pupil to thrive and achieve their very best.

What makes Roundhay special is not only our outcomes but also our ethos and atmosphere. Visitors frequently comment on the warm relationships, calm environment and the way our pupils look after one another. We set the highest standards, expecting impeccable behaviour, kindness, respect and pride in wearing our uniform. This ensures our pupils feel safe, respected, included and ready to learn.

At Roundhay, every pupil matters, every family is welcome, and every young person is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their very best.

Our school values are not empty words. They shape every decision and action we take. Everything we do is for our pupils: developing their character, nurturing a love of learning, building resilience and confidence, and preparing them to become Recognisably Roundhay.

To us, being Recognisably Roundhay means more than achieving outstanding examination results. It means being kind, respectful and ambitious; embracing diversity; contributing positively to the community; and having the confidence, knowledge and integrity to thrive in an ever-changing world. We want every young person to leave us not only with excellent qualifications, but also with the values, character and sense of purpose that will enable them to make a positive difference wherever life takes them.

This does not happen everywhere, but it does happen here.

I warmly invite you to visit us and discover why Roundhay School is such an exceptional place to learn and work. A place where every child belongs, every child is challenged to achieve their very best, and every child is supported to become Recognisably Roundhay.

Every day is remarkable.”

Congratulations to our wonderful Y13 students! We are delighted to celebrate the destinations they have secured with their A level and Vocational results.

The Class of 2026 reflect a diverse range of interests, ambitions and course choices. They will begin exciting apprenticeships with global employers such as KPMG and roles including a Level 7 Apprenticeship in Accounting and our first apprenticeships in Environmental Consulting/Flood Risk Management and Autocare.

Our students will be taking up university courses across the UK from St Andrews and Glasgow to Imperial College London, Cambridge and Bath. Closer to home, also proving popular this year, are Durham, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle. With eight students securing places to study medicine, healthcare was again a favourite destination alongside courses in Radiography, Sonography and Optometry. Other exciting courses this year were Archaeology, Astrophysics and Contemporary Military and International History.

We are so proud of their individual success, testament to their sheer hard work along with the support of families and the teaching from our expert staff.

Roundhay represents a Sixth Form of all abilities who study a wide range of courses and we are delighted to recognise success at all levels across the curriculum. This year we were especially pleased that 30% of our A level entries were at the highest grades of A*/A and over 40 students achieved at least 3 A's at A Level.

Congratulations to everyone, we hope you enjoy celebrating your success and wish you all the very best for the future.
